I downloaded the game today to play it, and got through all of the first chapter before deciding to save and quit when I realized the touchscreen was no longer working. I couldn't figure out how to save without using the touchscreen, so I had to turn it off.
I went back, and found that the touchscreen ceases to work right after the first background(of the city street) appears, around 9 or 10 lines into the game.
There was another problem with skipping through the text that I was working on reproducing - it skipped for a while, and then I let go of the button, and it continued to skip. XD I'm not sure how that happened.
Oh, and there are tons of CRC errors when loading certain images, but that doesn't make the game unplayable. If you want me to find a specific instance or two, I can.
Just so you guys know. This is a great program, and Tsukihime works flawlessly XD
Oh, and if there's supposed to be sound(I downloaded the sound version), it all stops after the same picture appears. The only thing I ever hear is the clock ticking beforehand.
OKAY the touchscreen not working thing isn't happening anymore for some reason. But there's still no sound, even when I load from a save game, so I'm not sure if there was supposed to be any anyway.
But I found an actual error that doesn't seem to be going away now. I was playing this way too much today and got to a spot where the huge plot twist is about to be revealed(no spoilers!) and then it gave me a Guru Meditation Error. I'm on version 1.5.1. The PC is currently at 280. I assume that's all you need, because that's the current executing memory address or something.
Hard to say exactly where in the story the problem is. It's right after he reads the binder and sees something important and passes out.

Try using 1.4.6 for tr, while it's being fixed by whoever :P.

It looks like the wave files are completely scrambled.
Is there even anyway to convert them back into a readable format?
Ok, I got it. In the end it was easier than I thought.
The problem seems to be only affecting the mp3 files, download the new files here and simply overwrite the existing ones in your sound folder (keep the wavs):

For all novels that are affected by the same problem (like Higurashi?) you need to reencode the mp3 files by running:
ffmpeg -i FILENNAME.mp3 FILENNAME.wav
lame -b 64 FILENNAME.wav FILENNAME.mp3
The required binaries could be found in the tools folder of vnds.

uh, I think you got what I said backwards. mp3s are fine, .wav is breaking shit (due to no longer being supported).

At least for me wav is confirmed working.
I can hear the clicking sound at the start of tr, for example. But as soon as the old mp3 should play, everything went broken.

Ah, and I'm pretty sure the above mentioned solution would clear the problems with Fate and Higurashi.
Also it's most probably the cause why the porter of The World to Reverse (hallucinate) & Adagio in the end evaded to "sound" instead of "music".

you should really add support to ogg.
While OGG sounds better, it's more processor-intensive to decode. Not only that, but adding code to decode OGG would inflate the binary, leaving less room for backgrounds/images/music caching. There's also the possibility that it'd break music entirely (much like it already is broken; music in Clannad DS doesn't play on the 1.5.x versions for some reason)

maybe you could create your own audio container for low bitrate vnds audio (dsa or something).
removed the .wav files, still for the pc 280 error
removed the whole sound folder and got it once more
downlaoded the soundless .novel and got pc: 280
I also get guru on 1.5.3 on true remembrance
on something like the 6th chapter when (no spoilers) a certain character closes their eyes.
I was like- what!!!
and was thinking to myself- hmm... thats an odd ending for true remembrance.
so would it work with 1.4.7?
or something like that
