Well, I happened to come across an extraction tool for the game, and I've extracted all of the scripts and images. It is already commercially translated so it would only need some editing. There is not a wide use of effects either so it just basically needs the script and a wee bit of editing. I have no idea how to convert the images into a usable format however, I found a C script that may be able to help (but of course I can't compile. Damn windows). If I could get some help, this game could be easily ported.

http://imagemagick.com/script/index.php
for batch conversion tools.

backgrounds should be 256x192 .jpg files
sprites should be .png files (alpha is supported).

The problem is that the image (.wip) files use a separate .msk file for masking, even the sprites. Still looking into it, but I've completely extracted and decoded the script files. Circular encryption, sooo obsolete.

I could provide tools to convert the images.
Would you be willing to port the script?

use .jpg theyre smaller

and also so easy to break, so it's best people use it as long as possible in commercial games.

Well, hope it will work out for you. Please contact me if it's not working.
This will only process the sprites, since the remaining images should be an easy task.

Step 1:
Download and unzip crass (http://galcrass.blog124.fc2.com/).
Open a command line window and navigate to the new crass directory.
Run the command: crage -p PATH-TO-CHIP.ARC -u Willadv -o PATH-TO-OUT-DIRECTORY
I used this: crage -p F:\tmp\Chip.arc -u Willadv -o F:\tmp\

STEP 2:
Download and install imagemagick (http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php#windows)
Be sure that the imagemagick installation directory is availble in the windows path.

STEP 3:
Download "converter.bat" and place it in the "Chip" folder. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TFUSKHF6
Execute the batch file.
It will create a "convd" subdirectory and place copies of the alpha transparent pngs there.

Thanks a whole bunch. The converter I had been using was not even converting the regular cgs and bgs to a bitmap format. Your method worked perfectly, extracted the sprites, cg, and bg, mad props to you.

Now comes the long arduous task of 1) figuring out how the hell they encoded the voices into the script, and 2) editing the script.

Hey... are you still porting?
Feedback would help me a lot regaining my courrage to finish the wanko and kt port.

Yes, still being ported. working on the Mizuki arc, maybe about a quarter of the way done with it.

I'm thinking that it might be an interesting idea to make a novel specific skin for this one, as the function has as of yet, never been used.

I'm, glad that you're still porting.
Even though I got rather disinterested in vnds over the last months. Blame high temperatures and such (probably).

The problem about the skin stuff might be that nobody knows how to make such a skin.

Making a skin is easier for me to do than port... ._.

Oh, if someone could encode the music and sound effects, that'd be great. I'm only succeeding at creating blasting and clicking sounds.

So, I'd do the sound files.
Do you need the sound effects only, or music and voice also?

Sorry, me again.
I noticed everything works out fine with the SoundEncoder-1.4.jar (bundled with vnds).

Are you still porting this novel?

Good game, though I only really cared for the Aika arc. And a certain other aspect of the story that will ruin it if I talk about it. -.-; Because then people would know, and then it's not as funny...
