VNDSx 1.4.9 Modified Keymap (12)

Hey everybody, today I ended up doing a little modifying to the latest version of VNDSx because I finally got fed up with being unable to do some of the useful things in VNDS (screenshot and skipping) just because my shoulder buttons are broken.

For everyone's information, I don't know squat about DS coding and I was just poking at it (so if you try this, don't blame me if anything goes terribly terribly wrong...although it does work for me).

If anyone feels that I've done a good job at avoiding a fatal blow, but believe my keymapping sense is beyond stupid, feel free to give me an idea of how you would like it key mapped (so I can test it and see if it feels better for me xD) and of course, put up a copy for anyone that wants to try it.

Just in case nobody finds out what I swapped about, I just changed the X button from opening the menu to skipping and the B button from continuing text to taking a screenshot (I want to put this somewhere else, but I dunno where I should put it). The rest is all the same (hopefully...I didn't poke at the other stuff).

Anyways, if you want to try it here is the link:

-Note-
There was something strange when I attempted to use the screenshot...it wouldn't allow me to take screenshots until I went to the menu at least once, but after that it worked like how I'm guessing it is supposed to.

Lol, I just broke my version of VNDS xD. I attempted to swap the screenshot for the start button (so now my start button does the screenshooting while my B button brings up the menu)...and then I went and poked a little farther and broke my A button's function. Now instead of continuing the text, it doesn't do anything as a button by itself, although if pressed with the X button, it opens the save screen, Y button is the load screen, and the B button gives back the heap size (no idea what that is, but w/e).

Everyone can probably already tell that I'm just having fun with the keymap, but who knows, maybe one day I'll understand what I'm doing and then continue VNDS (in some far off fantasy xD).

How are you even getting it to compile? I can't seem to get it to ever work.

Did you already install Devkitpro (and PAlib too maybe...) o.0? The only things I installed were the basic stuff for nds and then viola, it works xD.

Yeah, and it was always hanging on the same section. It would get through some of it, but then something would make it error out. I don't know what it is now, but it was irritating.

Yeah, apparently I have no clue of how to compile the stuff. I've got it all installed, I know how to read c code, but I don't know the commands to get the devkitpro stuff to actually put it all together.

It should just be 'make'. I usually just make a .bat file called build so it isn't a hassle xD. I'm pretty sure you use the make command while the directory having 'makefile' is active.
It sounds like we are on opposite sides xD. I don't know any coding, but I can get it to compile, whereas you know coding, but can't get it to compile.

Yeah, I always get the same error. When it's nearing the end, it hits an 'rm' command in the makefile that kills it.

rm: missing operand
Try 'rm --help' for more information

Ok, nvm, I fixed my makefile. I got it to compile and it started up on the DS without any problems. Not sure why it would work on your computer and not mine without that small fix.

Lol, maybe it isn't something I fixed (I probably ignored it and went on with playing around) xD. I never checked anything and just poked around until a new vnds.nds came out, and then I tested that (mostly because I thought vnds-efs.nds was supposed to be the one that includes the novels/other stuff in the .nds for emulator use...at least, that is what I thought it was...xD).

I don't think it would screw up it compiling. It's nearly the last command in the make file, and it was erroring out when trying to delete something that doesn't exist while cleaning up. So it probably did work.
I just hate having it say "ERROR."
